Town of Lexington, MA Helped “Virtually” Kick-Off ICAW 2020

05/15/2020 12:04 PM

On Monday, May 4th, the Town of Lexington helped promote the start of International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) as the National ICAW Kick-Off organization for this year’s annual week. They were joined by Tetra Tech, sponsor of the kick-off event.  Traditionally, the national launch for ICAW is held onsite, but due to COVID-19, this year the program was held “virtually.”   Throughout the day, a series of educational videos were shown highlighting the work the Town of Lexington has done to promote compost use, home composting and organics recycling.  Tetra Tech also created a video on separating organics recycling.  The different videos can be found on this page: https://www.compostfoundation.org/icaw-get-involved-events

This toolkit is designed to help you determine if a compostable plastics program is appropriate for your organization and to guide you in properly managing your compostable plastics.

*Resources outlined in this toolkit are examples from a variety of sources to help facilitate a better understanding of compostable products and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Compost Research and Education Foundation (CREF).
